6.0/10

I had an overall decent stay at the Holiday Inn Memphis-University Of Memphis. The hotel is conveniently located for those attending events at the university, and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, I faced some issues with room cleanliness and maintenance that detracted from the experience. The WiFi also left much to be desired, making it difficult to stay connected during my trip.

Rooms
6.0
My room was clean and spacious, but it had some maintenance issues, including leaking faucets. I also found the layout a bit awkward, with wasted space in the sitting area. The carpet definitely needs some attention.
Service
6.0
The staff was friendly and responsive, but I encountered delays at check-in and some problems with housekeeping. Although they sent maintenance promptly, having to deal with these issues was frustrating after a long trip.
Location
8.0
The location is perfect for attending events at the University of Memphis, which was the primary reason for my stay. It’s a safe area, but if you're looking for attractions away from the university, you might find it lacking.
Dining
7.0
I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had a good selection. However, I found the bar offerings lacking, especially with no draft beers available and poor wine quality during my visit.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had decent facilities, including a good breakfast area and helpful maintenance staff, but the general upkeep seemed to be an issue, reflected in the outdated carpets and lack of stocked items at the snack shop.

6.8/10

I had a mixed experience at the Holiday Inn Memphis-University of Memphis. While I appreciated the spacious room and charming atmosphere (the older character was quite nice), I faced some challenges with noise during my stay. The breakfast buffet was decent, but I felt it could be improved, especially the coffee service.

Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was spacious and had luxurious linens, which I really enjoyed. However, I did have issues with noise from the adjoining room during the early morning, making it hard to get quality sleep.
Service
7.0
Most of the staff were friendly and eager to help, particularly at check-in. However, there were moments where staff responsiveness lagged, especially when I needed assistance with room issues.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location is ideal for attending events at the University of Memphis. However, there weren't many dining options nearby, and I found the nearest coffee shop a bit too far to walk in the heat.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast buffet offered a variety of options, but it was easily outshone by offerings from other hotel chains. The coffee was lukewarm and service could have been more attentive.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were adequate, but there were maintenance issues, such as the escalator being out of service, which I hoped would have been addressed more promptly.

5.8/10

My stay at the Holiday Inn Memphis-University of Memphis was mixed. While the spacious rooms and helpful staff were highlights, I faced several issues that detracted from the experience. The carpet needed replacement, and the breakfast wasn't as good as I expected, lacking variety. Overall, if you have business at the university, it's convenient, but I would consider other options otherwise. 😊

Rooms
7.0
The suite design made the room spacious, and it was clean. However, the carpeting badly needed replacement.

The staff were friendly and quick to assist, although I did encounter a few unresponsive moments during my stay.
Location
7.0
The hotel's proximity to the University of Memphis was excellent, but there was not much else nearby.
Dining

The breakfast buffet was standard and didn't impress. I also had a disappointing experience with the bar selection.
Facilities

The overall facilities were adequate, but the escalator was out of order for my entire stay.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Memphis-University of Memphis for a week, and I can't say I have many complaints! The staff were super friendly and professional, which really stood out to me. The location is spot-on for anyone visiting the university, but I did encounter some service hiccups, especially with the breakfast and housekeeping. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but there were a few areas that could use improvement.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were clean and spacious, but I noticed some with layout issues that felt like wasted space. The second room I was moved to had some minor maintenance problems, like leaking faucets, which were a bit distracting while trying to relax.
Service
6.0
While the front desk staff was generally helpful, I did find some aspects of the restaurant service lacking. For instance, it took a while to get someone's attention during breakfast, and I had some trouble with housekeeping one day. Overall, the employees were nice, but I expected a bit more efficiency.
Location
8.0
The location is fantastic for university events, being directly across from the University of Memphis. It also offers easy access to attractions like the Pink Palace Museum. However, I found it a bit inconvenient that the nearest coffee shop was about 0.6 miles away, which isn't a quick jaunt in the heat.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast buffet was decent but didn't wow me. I have had better experiences at other hotels, and the coffee could have been hotter. The selection was alright, but I feel like they could step it up a notch in terms of variety.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had its charm, and I appreciated that maintenance issues were resolved quickly. The amenities offered could've been clearer, though; I found myself curious about what was available on-site since there wasn't much info in the rooms.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Memphis-University Of Memphis for a conference, and while the location was super convenient for that purpose, it wasn't great for anything else around the area. The rooms are spacious, but the carpets definitely need an upgrade. I had breakfast one morning, which was decent, though nothing to write home about. I also tried the bar, but I was disappointed with the poor wine selection and the small pour I received.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms are suite-style and spacious, but the carpet needs replacing.
Service

The staff were friendly and tried to be helpful, but I had issues at the bar where they provided a tiny pour of wine.
